Hi, i’m steve - a consultant, coach, and facilitator who helps good causes do great things. 

I launched Steve Brooks Consulting in 2021 to do the work I care about most: supporting values-led people and organisations to find their purpose, grow their influence, and lead with impact.

My work focuses on three core areas:

Strategic Communications & Public Affairs – shaping opinion and influencing policy.
Leadership & Team Development – coaching leaders and facilitating growth.
Strategy & Governance – developing strategy and strengthening charity governance.

I’ve spent the past 25 years leading organisations and campaigns that challenge the status quo — across the public, private, and third sectors; locally, nationally, and internationally. While I’m rooted in Wales, I support clients across the UK and beyond.

I know it’s a cliché — but I want to help change the world.

I grew up on one of the most deprived estates in England. A lucky council house swap gave me a new school, new opportunities, and a new life path. That experience taught me that inequality isn’t inevitable, it’s a consequence of how we run things.

That understanding has shaped my whole career. I’ve worked to challenge unjust systems, shift public policy, and help values-led leaders and organisations navigate complexity and drive change.

Over the years I’ve led campaigns that have changed hearts and minds, secured multi-million pound investment for the causes I’m championing, changed legislation in Westminster and Wales, and helped influence the decisions that shape people’s lives.

As a facilitator, coach and mentor, I’ve used my lived and professional experience together with my training as a counsellor to help individuals and teams find their ‘why’, overcome challenges, spark new ideas, and drive action. Much of my work today involves providing critical issue support for senior leaders, helping them make and communicate decisions.e
